About the project

A website for a men's barbershop in Smederevo, built to present the services and the feel of the shop clearly. It was developed with React, Vite and Tailwind CSS, and redesigned in 2026: dark and light sections alternate, the type is large, and the hero holds a three-dimensional pair of scissors that visitors can take apart and put back together.

The scissors are written in code with Three.js - the geometry is extruded from contours and profiles, the parts assemble while the page loads, and the scene follows the pointer and makes an occasional cut. It loads as a separate code chunk and only on desktop machines with enough cores and memory, it is skipped under reduced motion and data saver, and it stops outside the viewport. Phones and devices without WebGL get a still image of the same scissors, so they never download Three.js.

Services with prices and categories, the work gallery and the figures in the about section are edited in a Sanity studio, with fallback values written into the code for when the CMS does not answer. The first screen shows whether the shop is open right now and until when, the price list shows a photo of the selected service, and gallery work opens full screen. Booking opens Instagram messages directly, and the bottom of the page carries a contact form, a map and opening hours.
